This Ramadan let Allah fix it.

“O you who believe! Fasting (saum) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may (learn) self-restraint;” Quran 2:183

From dawn to sunset we abstain from foods/drinks, wives/husbands, etc., avoiding vain talk and actions while devoting our utmost attention to Allah and what is pleasing to Him  لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ   so that we will be regardful of Allah, fearing to displease Him so we may “become” (more) pious.

Once again Ramadan, the month in which the Quran was revealed is here as a blessing.  Many of us will spend more time at the masaajid breaking the fast (Iftar) and making extra prays (Tarweeah) together, after having spent our days without food/drink (while still worshipping Allah) on our jobs, at school, etc. because of our devotion to Allah.

This is the role of Mankind, to be a caretaker for Allah in this world (our individual) lives.  This is how Allah fixes us, if we are obedient to Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to whom Allah revealed the QuranAllah works upon us through our obedience to Him and His Word (Quran).

Allah Created (Mankind) so that they will worship HIM not associating with HIS worship anything.  So for thirty days we are given an opportunity to leave those vices we have been saying we are going to stop; “do it now, for Allah.”  Set aside those comforts of life from dawn to sunset, as “we will leave them all ‘completely one day’ when Allah chooses we return to Him at death,” and give our complete devotion in worship to Allah.

“When my servants ask you concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them); I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me; let him also (willingly) listen to My call and believe in Me  لَعَلَّكُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ  that they may live in the right way;” Quran 2:186.

Narrated Abu Hurairah رَضِىَ الله عنه The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الله عليه و سلم said: “Allah said, ‘I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine  And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him.  Then I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sinse of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My Protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge), and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him.”  (Sahih Al-Bukhari, V0l 8, Hadith No 509)
