بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
There (on the Day of Resurrection), الْوَلَيَةُ لِلَّهِ الْحَقِّ Al-Walâyah (protection, power, authority and kingdom) will be for Allâh (Alone), the – True God. He (Allâh) is the Best for reward and the Best for the final end. (Lâ ilâha ill-allâh none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh). (18:44)
And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allâh is Able to do everything. (18:45)
The life of man must interact with the environment (creation of Allah) in order for man to fulfill his role as khalifa, or servant, caretaker (for Allah) in the earth. We are not to see ourselves as anything but His servant’s and view our life work as ibadah for Allah. With this attitude, إن شَآءَ اللهَ we will earn the pleasure and reward of Allah in this life and the next. With this in mind we must also remember that Allah gives blessings to all, even though the person may not be a good person, as a way of testing us, to see if we will be grateful and not boastful and covetous. Allah Most High tells us all the blessings, of material wealth, etc., are to be used by us in ways that will bring us closer to Allah.
Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds, that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope. (18:46)
