Respite from Punishment

Life is a Test for Mankind. If we do good, GOD rewards us in kind or multiple times more with good for our good. Even a good intention is rewarded with good from GOD.

If our intent is to do bad, but we do not do the bad then GOD will reward us with good. If we do wrong, then GOD punishes us unless He chooses to forgive.

{No, expect no change in the Way of GOD in His dealing with the people of the past.}

“So, no change will you find in the Way of GOD (way of dealing), and no turning off will you find in the Way of GOD (way of dealing) with His slaves.”

Gambling, drinking alcohol, fornication, homosexuality, etc., have been part of life for as long as man has existed even though men of GOD have preached against these things.

Gambling (once illegal) is now a legalized aspect of everyday economic life (lottery tickets, casinos, etc.). Drinking (Prohibition) is now a lucrative part of American life. Both gambling and alcohol punish the user and their families in many instances.

Marijuana (another evil) has sent many people to prison for its use and distribution (mostly young African Americans). Destroying those lives, yet it is now a legal aspect of American economic life, and it is growing.

Homosexuality is the evil most recently legalized into American life. The complete moral decadence of Sodom and Gomorrah perhaps show that although GOD grants respite, there is a limit, and He does punish in this life for disobedience and indulgence in evil.

Some people choose not to do these things, while others choose to live their lives as if devoted in some way to these forbidden things (and not to GOD). So that they can enjoy whatever pleasure they feel they get from these things.

If GOD chooses, they could be punished immediately. But GOD wants us to earn His Good pleasure by our keeping away from the evil bad things that scriptures, and our moral GOD given common sense warn mankind against.

“So, no change will you find in the Way of GOD (way of dealing), and no turning off will you find in the Way of GOD (way of dealing) with His slaves.”
